Estate Planning & Probate Section – Ethical Issues Confronting Trusts & Estates Lawyers – Live Webinar

The Estate Planning & Probate Section invites you to a live webinar with Alison Buchanan on Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

Description: This live online program will focus on attorney ethics issues relevant to estate planning, trust, and probate lawyers.  Specifically, we will address some of the more pertinent revised Rules of Professional Conduct (what is new, what stayed the same, and what wasn’t included), risk management best practices particularly important for estate planning and trust lawyers, and the new California Rules of Court requiring training for those serving as independent counsel in conservatorships and guardianships.

Speaker: Alison Buchanan is a Shareholder in Hoge Fenton’s Silicon Valley office, where she is the chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group. Alison is a Certified Specialist in Legal Malpractice Law as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is a sought-after speaker on attorney ethics.

To verify attendance, please listen for three “keywords” to be announced at the beginning, middle, and end of the presentation.  A survey from Survey Monkey will be circulated by the SMCBA, which will request confirmation of those three keywords.  You will be given MCLE credit upon successful completion of the survey and will be able to access your MCLE certificate on the SMCBA website thereafter.

Cost: $20 for Estate Planning Section members and $30 for non-section members. Cost includes 1 hour of Legal Ethics credit.
