This course provides a detailed framework for the practitioner defending clients facing family law related contempt actions, focusing on defense strategies and best practices during pre-trial, trial, and post-trial family law contempt proceedings. The presentation includes an in-depth analysis of the interplay between civil and criminal procedural considerations common to family law contempt citations, how to analyze pleadings for potential defenses, effective pre-trial motion strategies, trial evidence, sentencing, and post-Judgment remedies.
Daniel W. Cantrell is Certified Family Law Specialist and a Partner at Blevans & Blevans, LLP, where his practice focuses on the trial of complex family law matters concerning the characterization, valuation, and apportionment of business interests, pre-marital and post-nuptial agreements, the characterization and division of investment and retirement plans, and complex support issues. Daniel’s creative and insightful approach to the presentation of evidence at trial provides invaluable assistance to firm clients facing litigation. Daniel is a sought-after speaker and frequently lectures on topics common to family law trials including the presentation of expert testimony, trial advocacy, and advanced evidence related topics.
