We will discuss the detection of substance abuse that may impair an attorney’s ability to perform legal services with competence. We will discuss the differences between use, abuse and addiction of mood-altering chemicals and behaviors and how that can affect daily life in the legal profession.
Our speaker, Daniel Glatt MD MPH is a Board Certified physician in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He currently is in private practice in Burlingame. Dr. Glatt completed his Internal Medicine training in the US Navy and served 7 years on active duty. He received his Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at the San Francisco Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. In addition to his Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine practice, he does medication management for patients with chronic pain.
Cost: Cost is $20 per person for members of the SMCBA Labor & Employment Section and $30 for others. Cost includes 1.0 hours of Competence Issues MCLE credit.

Please note that you’ll need to be logged into a Zoom account to join the webinar. The written materials for the webinar will be emailed to attendees the day before and morning of the event.
Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours prior to the event for a full refund of the registration fee. If you do not cancel within 48 hours or do not show up to the event, you will be charged the full amount.
