Edward Fluet and Philip Sousa, of Lakin Spears LLP, will provide an overview of the duties and responsibilities of a trustee concerning creditors’ claims against a trust. The discussion will include an overview of the underlying statutory scheme, the applicable statute of limitations, the use of the optional trust claims procedure, relevant case law and best practices for planning, administration and litigation.

Cost: Cost is $40 per person for members of the SMCBA Estate Planning Section who inform us in advance that they will attend and $55 for non section members. Cost includes lunch and 1 hour of MCLE credit.
